It’s that time of the year again. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and love is in full bloom! But what do you do if you don’t know what to get your Valentine? You may look forward to buying them flowers or personalized items that show your affection but how do you know they’ll like what you get for them? Regardless of how long you’ve been in a relationship with someone, giving the right gift still takes some thought.
Look At Their Hobbies
It’s important to know where to start. Look at the things they like. Do they play video games? Are they a bookworm? Have they ever mentioned a favorite actor, actress, or musician? Getting your Valentine something that goes along with one of their hobbies or interests can go even farther than a box of chocolates and a card. If you notice they like to garden, buy them flowers that they can plant. That way, the flower plant can keep on giving each year around!
Plan A Date
Instead of going the materialistic way, make some memories with them. Have they mentioned a new restaurant they’ve wanted to try? Take them out on a date. Are they more of homebody? Stay at home and make their favorite dinner and dessert. You can even make a night of it by giving each other massages. Showing your affection through gestures can be even more intimate than giving them something bought in the store.
Give Them A Homemade Gift
This is a perfect solution for those of you who like to work with their hands. A couple of examples of this would be crocheting, woodworking, writing, drawing, etc. A handmade gift can go a long way with your Valentine. It doesn’t have to be something that takes you 6 months to make either. No matter what you make for them, your Valentine will see it as thoughtful and caring. They’ll know that you were thinking about them during the entire process and that can have more of an impact on the gift you give them.
All in all, your gift should represent how much your Valentine means to you. Be creative! Open up to romance and show your love in a fashion you might not usually do during the holidays. Your gift should come from your heart. It doesn’t have to be expensive or completely over the top. What matters the most is that it’s a gift you envisioned for your love.
Hopefully this has helped inspire some insight on new ideas for a Valentine’s gift!
